September – Sickle Cell Awareness Conference 20102009 brought forth many new and exiting sickle cell possibilities. Banner Good Samaritan started the Adult Sickle Cell Task Force created to help with quality of care for adult sickle cell sufferers, Phoenix Children’s Hospital hired on a new pediatric hematologist that cater specifically to sickle cell patients, and Quest to Cure started the monthly adult, youth and parent support groups. This year, we want to bring it all together to create a more inclusive sickle cell community. The conference will cover topics surrounding quality of care, youth transition, and new sickle cell options.

SAVE OUR SUMMER (UBS) Quest to Cure is a big fan of blood donations. Last year, Identicle twin spokes persons Joshua and Jordan spoke at the Valentins for Life UBS Luncheon. They met individuals that donated blood directly to them. What an honor. There wasn't a dry eye in the building. BE A HERO!!! DONATE BLOOD TODAY AND SAVE A LIFE!!!
