SRP African American Cultural Committee
Salt River Project’s (SRP) Employee Interest Group (EIG) the African American Cultural Committee (AACC) has chosen Quest to Cure Sickle Cell Foundation to be their 2009/2010 FY charity. The AACC began their fundraising efforts for Quest to Cure in late June 2009. They raised money through bake sales, ice cream socials, office raffles, and silent auctions. But the main fundraising efforts came from AACC’s 4th Annual Jazz Event held at Tempe’s Pera Pavilion where attendance was estimated at 350 persons. The event included dinner catered by Outback Steak House and music from guitarist Jay Soto and smooth jazz recording artist Dominic Amato. At the end of the year, The AACC Employee Interest Group raised $5,900.00 which goes towards Quest to Cures programs and services. Thank you all for your part in assisting Quest to Cure help children focus on life without pain.

(CMBC) Canaan Missionary Baptist Church.
CMBC under the leadership of Pastor Sherman Fort, so graciously invited the Quest to Cure Family to their Sunday Morning Worship Service, and allowed us time to do a presentation on Sickle Cell Awareness. We spoke about the importance of trait testing and the history of sickle cell Disease. Many of the CMBC members registered for the up-coming Life Without Pain Run/Walk event.
